Junior Friend Information

teen volunteers

Young people entering grades 6-12 who are looking for something to do this summer may volunteer as part of the Junior Friends program. Please call to register.   Our Junior Friend sign-up this year will be online.  You will need to watch our videos which will explain the rules and procedure for registering.    As a Junior Friend, young people can volunteer to: read to younger children as a Book Buddy, sign-up for a weekly shift in the Children’s Department to assist with the Summer Reading Club game, help children on the computers, or assist at programs.  This is a great opportunity for students to fulfill required volunteer hours for Scouts, church organizations, Honor Societies, and High Schools. All Junior Friends may register through the library website, www.ntlibrary.org beginning Wednesday,May 29th for experienced Junior Friends and  Wednesday, June 5th , where they will then be given access to orientation  videos for the program and the registration process .  The videos must be viewed, and the online document must be signed before your first volunteer day.  We will also be selling the T-shirt ‘uniform’ which will cost $6.00 due by Thursday, June 14th.   If you have any questions, or just wish to register, please call the library at 716-693-4132, ext. 5.
