Talent Show Tryout Tuesdays

Join us for “Talent Show Tryout Tuesdays” anytime between 1 and 4 PM beginning Tuesday, June 26th through Tuesday, July 31st in the Children’s Department.  Practice your special singing, dancing or other surprising talent for our Monday, August 6th  Talent Show.   Children must be entering Grade 1 to participate in the talent show.  All ages welcome for  tryouts.  Due to time limitations, not all acts will be chosen for the Talent Show. There will be a dress rehearsal on Friday, August 10thfrom 1-3PM.  Performance on August 6th  is at the discretion of the Children’s Librarians.  You are limited to a 3-minute performance.  No registration necessary for tryouts.   For more information, please call 693-4132, ext. 5.

If You Give a Mouse a Cookie Visit

Join us at the Library  on Friday, June 22nd  at 11:00AM- 12:00PM for a special book character visit.  Meet Mouse from If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.  Be ready to give Mouse a big hug.  The whole family is welcome to listen to Mouse stories and participate in mouse songs, activities and a craft.  Bring a camera to have your picture taken with Mouse.    Weather permitting: the program will be held outside in the backyard of the library.  No registration is required.  For more information call the library at 693-4132, ext.5.  Mouse’s visit is courtesy of Barnes and Noble.

Drop-in Family Coloring Program

Families  are invited to the Library for a Drop-In Family Coloring Program in the Children’s Room on Tuesdays,  May 1st and 15th  anytime between 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. We will have coloring sheets available for all ages and an assortment of crayons, colored pencils, and markers. Coloring has become a fun activity for children and adults.  Studies show coloring can have a calming effect on the mind and help to promote overall wellness. Bring your child, and relax while you both spend some time coloring. This program is perfect for all ages!  No registration necessary. For more information visit the library online.

LEGO Club-April

If you’re in First Grade and up, join us for another great year of LEGO Club.  Registration fills quickly for the LEGO Club each month at the  Library.  The next meeting will be on Monday,April 16th at 4-5PM.  The children will build on a different theme each month.  This month we will focus on Sports and Sports Stadiums.  All supplies will be provided; the children only need to bring their imagination and creativity to each session.  Registration is required, by phone or in person or by e-mail.  Please make sure that you receive a confirmation e-mail.

Library’s upcoming budget vote and trustee election will be held

Where do you vote?
Vote at the Library, 505 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda
between 9:30am and 9pm

Who can vote?
Residents of the School District of North Tonawanda and over the age of 18.  There is no registration.  You DO NOT have to be registered to vote in the general election to vote on the Library Budget.

What is being voted on?
Shall the North Tonawanda Public Library Budget for fiscal year
2018-2019, which requires for Library purposes $27,593 to increase the annual appropriation from $1,412,326 to $1,439,919 be approved and adopted and the necessary tax levied by the North Tonawanda City School District?

S.T.E.A.M Activity Day

Blow off some STEAM this Holiday season at the Library, on Wednesday, December 27th from 9:30-5PM.  Our Children’s play area will have KEVA planks for building, DUPLO blocks, Coloring sheets for all ages, plus our already tried and true chalkboard, Doctor’s office, puzzles, and our new amazing Launching Pad devices. Bring your child, and relax while you both spend some time with all of our educational activities.  We will have an assortment of crayons, colored pencils, and markers.  All ages are welcome to enjoy the activities!  Color a picture and receive a free book.  NO REGISTRATION NECESSARY.

Holiday Magic Show with Special Guest: Santa

We think that Michael Joseph and SANTA have become two of our favorite Holiday traditions at the Library.  So, please join us once again for OUR ANNUAL HOLIDAY MAGIC SHOW with Special Guest: SANTA on Thursday, December 21st from 6:30-7:30.  Michael Joseph’s magic will delight and mystify all ages. We also will enjoy a MAGICAL visit from SANTA CLAUS.  There will be treats for all.  Parents: Pictures with Santa may be taken after all children receive their treats. No registration is necessary. Everyone is welcome to enjoy this free program.  No registration necessary.

The Elf on the Shelf is visiting the Children’s Room and getting into all sorts of mischief.  Visit the Children’s room daily from December 1st through December 23rd to find the elf.  Let the Children’s Librarian know when you find the elf and win a prize and a book.
