Saturday, July 13th
The NTLibraryCon is a FREE, family-friendly convention for all things nerdy!
Want to come to NTLibraryCon? Preregister here!
You can always sign up the day of the convention, but preregistering has some benefits:
- It tells us how many prizes, crafts, chairs, and activities to have ready for you!
- We print your name/nickname on your badge, which is pretty sweet.
- It saves you time when you come in.
Want to sign up for the Cosplay Contest? Preregister here!
You can always sign up the day of, too. Last year’s contest judges were the awesome people of Pulp 716 .
What is cosplay, you ask? It’s dressing up in a costume for a person/thing you like. It can be as simple as a T-shirt and elaborate as the people who play Disney Princesses at Disney. We encourage everyone to dress up as much as they feel comfortable and everyone is welcome in our cosplay contest. We have categories for:
- Best Kid Costume
- Best Teen Costume
- Best Adult Costume
- Judge’s Choice (chosen by our lovely judges)
- Fan Favorite (chosen by our lovely attendees by applause-o-meter)
When is it?: Saturday, July 13th, 2019 from 10am to 4pm.
Who is this for?: Everyone, ages 0-104!
Everything will be rated PG-13, so parental guidance is recommended.
What is it?: A day to celebrate the shows, books, characters, and movies that you’re a fan of.
You can find more information and connect with other attendees on our Facebook page. Here’s this year’s schedule. All panels are rated PG-13 or lower. Please click on the image to see full-size!
How much will it cost?: It’s totally free, offered as part of our library Summer Reading Club programming!
The Friends of the North Tonawanda Public Library graciously provide funding for our programming. Pulp 716, Casual Dragon Games, Ichiban Games and our amazing guest artists also offer their support to make the day as awesome as possible.
I want to help & be an awesome volunteer for the day!:
Yay! We need tons of volunteers the day of, and would love to have you bring your games to demonstrate, register attendees, or anything else.
If you cannot make the meeting, but want to volunteer, please contact Ms. Menzel at kmenzel AT nioga.org. Please note that you have to be at least 13 to volunteer unless a parent will be with you the whole time. All student volunteers receive community service hours. Adult volunteers are welcome as well.
If you signed up for a slot at our volunteer meeting and cannot make it as scheduled, please let us know!
Do you have an Artist’s Alley? Can I sell my stuff?: Sorry, no selling things at the library but we do have an Artist’s Spotlight.
We encourage artists to show off their craft at our Artist’s Spotlight, but library rules prohibit people from selling products in the library, with the exception of our Friends’ booksale. You can bring business cards and hand them out, and everyone loves freebies, but once money exchanges hands, it’s a violation of our rules. If you want an artist’s table, please email Ms. Menzel (kmenzel AT nioga.org)
How do I learn more?: Check out our Facebook group.
We will keep you updated with the latest news, events, and more.
A huge thank you to our supporters and volunteers. Without you, none of this would be possible!
